FAQ - Les questions régulières et informations utiles

How to care for your piercing?

Good hygiene is of the utmost importance for healing. Only touch your piercing after thoroughly washing your hands. When cleaning your piercing for the first time, we recommend that you be in a seated position with your back supported to avoid falling in case of malaise. Cleaning should be done morning and evening throughout the healing period. To clean your piercing: use lukewarm water (abundantly) to soften the dry secretions, lather a small amount of mild soap (neutral pH) such as hydralin, saphorelle, etc… Apply the foam to the pierced area. Press along your piercing to release any secretions and move your jewelry up and down Gold rotate the ring. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, and after washing your face, with physiological serum and dry it with a gauze pad.

How do I disinfect my piercing?

Should be done twice a day for two weeks. Once your piercing is clean disinfect it with a non-alcohol based antiseptic such as diaseptil.

What if I feel pain?

After the piercing a small amount of swelling is normal. It should disappear rapidly. If, despite your assiduous cleaning and care, swelling and pain persist, come back to see us as soon as possible: there may be an infection.

NB : la période d’inflammation ne correspond pas à la durée de cicatrisation.

Can piercings cause allergies?

We use materials with high biocompatibility (18-carat gold) for our piercings. However, some rare cases of allergies may occur. In such cases the piercing is red with important secretions. In general, these are allergies to the antiseptic products used to care for the piercing: the solution is simple and easy, all you have to do is change the type of antiseptic.

Prolonged use of antiseptics can create allergies and make the skin atopic (dryness, persistent redness).

How to promote healing?

A cure of zinc / magnesium can promote healing: don’t hesitate to ask your pharmacist for advice. But above all, a healthy lifestyle, sleep and a varied diet are essential.

What are the prohibitions after piercing?

Under no circumstances should you touch your piercing during the day.

Never remove your jewelry before complete healing has occurred.

Your piercing should only come in contact with cotton clothing, avoid synthetic materials. Avoid areas at high risk of bacterial contamination such as baths, swimming pools, saunas, hammams and UV cabins. Before changing your jewelry, ask your piercer.

WHAT YOUR PIERCING DOES NOT LIKE

Your piercing does not like friction Gold being bumped.

Instead of cotton pads and cotton swabs that leave behind fibers, use gauze compresses.

Avoid perfumed soaps Gold alcohol-based solutions, as well as makeup products.
